How to avoid spelling mistakes in technical reports?

Introduction

Hello everyone!

My name is Anne-Sophie and I have been studying Science for one year at Montmorency College.

Science is a vast program focusing for example on biology, physics, and mathematics.

I would like to study Aerospace Engineer at University next year.

In this video, I will be explaining how to use the website Virtual Writing Tutor.

This video is going to be a step-by-step tutorial.

So, if you are interested to know different functions about this website keep on watching!

The Problem

A field of study related to my program is Aerospace Engineer. While working in this field of study, you might be faced with writing technical reports or analysis on different subjects.

If in those reports or analysis you don't know how to properly write a specific term, make spelling mistakes or don't know how to pronounce a vocabulary word, your credibility and your reputation might be at stake.

For example, suppose you need to write a report and need to send it to your boss, you don't want your report to be filled with errors.

Making sure you don't make mistakes can be difficult, but I am going to show you how to correct your text and upgrade it by using this website Virtual Writing Tutor.

The Quest

First, you are going to open a new tab in your browser. Type this URL, virtualwritingtutor.com into the address bar at the top of the screen and hit enter.

You should see the logo in the top left corner of the screen. Under the logo, you will find the navigation menu where you can discover more useful tools within the website. Just under the navigation menu, you will find the instructions on how to use the website. In the middle of the screen, you will find the text area where you can copy paste or write your text. Under the text area on the right, a microphone and a text-to-speech buttons can help you with your pronunciation.

The Solution

Now here is where you can write the text you want to be corrected by clicking in the text area. For example, you might want to write this in your technical report : By analyzing the efficiency curve in this graphic, we can see that the power of the turbine is optimal. Click on the submit button check grammar on the top of the text area to see your errors. You will find the word count, the error count and your error density. Just under the statistics, you will find suggestions for your possible spelling mistake. You can then return to the text area and modify your original text. You can then integrate this sentence to your report and knowing it doesn't contain spelling or grammar mistakes. You can now select your text and hit delete to verify another sentence.
Another useful tool would be to make sure that you can pronounce a specific term correctly while describing your report or analysis with your coworkers. By clicking in the text area, you can write the word you want to check. For example, you might need to know how to pronounce this word: velocity. Click on the text-to-speech button in the bottom right side of the text area and the computer will say the word for you ;Velocity. Now you know how to pronounce it properly while describing your report.

The Conclusion

So, if you are in Science, in Aerospace Engineer or a related field of study, that's how you can use the Virtual Writing Tutor website to correct your reports or analysis.

I hope this was useful to you and that you will be able to integrate this strategy to your work ethic. Thank you for watching and have a good day!
